Our broken lives need the Spirit of God's guidance. We live in a fallen world and we certainly are not perfect. Nothing seems to go right. Why? It is a messed up world and we are powerless to do much about it. We all contribute because we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
But there is hope. Read on.
Jim Rohn says, “If you have been doing that for years and it hasn’t worked out very well, I suggest you stop doing that.” It is easy for us to get in a rut and keep doing the same old thing over and over, expecting a different result. We get “Stuck in stupid!” There is a better way!
Have you ever stopped, sat down in a quiet place, and asked God to help you evaluate your spiritual life and where He wants you to be and to go? Is there brokenness in your life?
Ask yourself, what am I doing to mature as a Christian?
Have you discussed your spiritual condition with God? He is always ready to listen. What does
He reveal to you?
Have you searched the scriptures for answers for your
well-being and growth as a Christian? What did they reveal to you?
What is your relationship with God? Is it strained? Is it
distance? Is there a blockage between you and God? How do you feel about your
relationship with God? Are you pleased with it or do you feel it could be
improved?
Do you see a billboard displaying a message about Christ and look away? Do you have a guilty feeling in your heart? Why is it there?
Get answers to these questions and more. “Ask God for
Help.net” is reaching out to Christians like you that have experienced these issues
and we are asking you to share your experiences and how you overcame the
obstacles in your lives.
Each of us has stories of our experiences. Some are bumps in the road while others are major hurtles to cross. Some are just too sinful and awful to tell to our closest friend, but you need to tell someone. “Ask God for Help” is the place to express yourself and share how you moved past these events in your life. How you overcame your wayward experiences and returned to the fellowship with God. How did you feel when you felt the arms of Christ around you?
We are all broken, fallen, and imperfect. We can never live a
sinless life here on earth. But we can put God first and love Him with all our
heart and all our might and all our strength. Having God in our lives is the
first step to repairing past damage.
The second step is to confess our sins to our heavenly
father. Go one step further. Don’t just confess your sins, but repent and be determined to never repeat those sins again. It is here we need help. We cannot
do this within our own strength. We need the help of Jesus Christ through the
Holy Spirit.
We need the word of God as a light to guide us, and we need
the Holy Spirit to help us understand how to apply God’s word in our lives. Healing broken lives begins in our hearts.
Our hope lies in the risen Savior. He loves each of us and
He is merciful. He stands ready, with open arms, to welcome you and me into
fellowship with Him.
Jesus died for our sins that we might be saved. He did not
leave it there. He did more. When He left this world to go to the Father, God
sent the Holy Spirit to abide in each of us. Christ knew we needed help. He
sent the Holy Spirit to help and strengthen us. We also have a choice; we can
have a little of the Holy Spirit or we can be filled with the Holy Spirit. The
difference is our relationship with Jesus, either a close relationship (filled
with the Holy Spirit) or a distance relationship (a little of the Holy Spirit).
Being filled with the Holy Spirit brings us into a close
relationship with Christ. We want more of Christ and we desire to fellowship
with Him through the Holy Spirit. A hunger develops in the bottom of our soul and we will hunger for more and more of Christ. We see our broken life mend and we will seek to know His
will for our life.
When we seek the Holy Spirit, we will find the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit becomes our teacher, our guide, our comforter, our counselor,
and our strength.
Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father,
and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever — the Spirit of truth” (John
14:15-17).
Do you have someone that will stand up for you and be your advocate? You can!
The Amplified Bible explains the Holy Spirit this way.
But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future]. He will honor and glorify Me, because He will take of (receive, draw upon) what is Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you (John 16:13-14).
When we realize we need help and ask God for help, we can repair the brokenness in our lives, pick ourselves up from the fallen state and mend some imperfections in our lives.
God desires broken lives be healed. Help begins when we ask.
This is the good news. We are not alone; we are not left to our own devices and our own strength. We have the power of the Holy Spirit. He is our advocate and the way to making better decision and knowing the path God has for us. Seek the Holy Spirit, be filled with the Holy Spirit, listen to the Holy Spirit and let the Holy Spirit guide you in your every decision you make every day.
Experience the healing of your broken life and share your "Good News."
